IS YOUR CHILD ENTITLED TO PUPIL PREMIUM? 

What is pupil premium?

 

Pupil premium gives schools extra funding to raise the achievement of some pupils. Pupil Premium can be spent on trips for school, subsidising trips, buying school resources, paying for children’s milk etc. This means your child can get more in school!

 

Is my child entitled?

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit

DID YOU KNOW?

Even if your children in other year groups are entitled to Free School Meals, it doesn’t mean your youngest child who already received FREE meals will have been added to the Pupil Premium list. You need to apply for these separately.
