Governors
We are lucky to have a wonderful group of people using their talents to help Sacred Heart to be the best school that it can be.
Many of the members of the governing body have close ties with the school being parents of pupils both past and present, or even having been pupils themselves! It is this close-knit community that makes Sacred Heart such a special school to its pupils, parents, staff and governors.
Our Governing Board channels the strategic vision and direction of the school, and is the employer of all staff.
The purpose of governance is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.
The three core functions of the governing board: Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction; Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils and the performance management of staff; Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

Register of Governor’s Business Interests
Under the County Council’s Financial Scheme, every governing body is required to establish and update a register of governors’ business interests. This means that governors and headteachers must register and declare business interests that might relate to their duties. The register is updated annually in the Autumn Term. Following updates, any registers of interest are made public.
