Headteacher's Welcome from Mrs C Mashiter

A very warm welcome is extended to you and your child from Sacred Heart Primary School and Nursery. We believe every child is precious and it is a privilege to play a part in their journey and development.

Our school is founded in the Catholic faith and all our actions reflect our belief that every child is a gift created in the image of our God. We openly welcome children from all faiths and backgrounds and every child flourishes in our care and love. We expect every child to fulfil their potential and we celebrate everyone’s uniqueness and the gifts and talents they have.

Sacred Heart is a school where individuals are valued and helped to achieve their personal best, from Nursery through to Year 6.  Children are supported in becoming confident and independent young people, who thrive on challenge and are motivated to learn.  All schools have their own distinctive ‘feel’ which makes each one unique. We believe that the ‘special feel’ at Sacred Heart comes from our caring, supportive and friendly environment. There is a real family atmosphere at Sacred Heart of which we are very proud, it is an environment full of warmth and laughter with dedicated and creative teaching staff. We know all our families well and build on this strong partnership between school, parish and home to ensure our precious children receive the support and stimulating education they deserve, rooted within our rich Catholic ethos.

We strive for academic excellence and provide an exciting and enriching experience for all our children. I am extremely proud to lead a team that is committed to children's well-being, achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for all in our care.  Staff, supported by governors, work hard to deliver a rich and challenging curriculum; to prepare children for future education; and to help them acquire the skills and enthusiasm needed to embrace the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.

We cannot do this alone. Our school works closely with parents, the local authority, the Diocese and local primary and secondary schools to ensure the best for all our children.

To find out about our school, we encourage you to come and visit, to see us in action and meet staff and children. A call to the school office on 01254 233382 is all that is needed to arrange this.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, and to a happy and successful partnership with all our new children and families.

Take care and God Bless,

Mrs C Mashiter (Headteacher)
