I can't quite believe we are on week 17 of distanced learning and that it will be the final week with your child in Reception! This week we aren't going to have daily maths and phonics sessions or a topic grid. Instead I will add some Literacy and Maths home challenges which you could look at and complete. These will build on the skills learnt over the year and allow your child to be more ready for the transition to Year 1. For topic activities we will start the week with a 'Home Sports Day!' as your child missed out on their Reception Sports Day. Then I will add activities for you and your child to complete together to help with their transition into Year 1.
Below are some Literacy activities to print and complete. There are lots so don't feel you have to do them all, or do them all at once. You could do some each day between now and starting back at school in September!

Below are some activities for our Reception Home Sports Day! Browse through and complete the activities, most need minimal or no equipment. Some of the activities can be done as a race and some you could see how many you can do in a minute. For the egg and spoon race you could use a lemon or a potato instead of an egg. If you don't have a ball, you can use a pair of socks balled together, or even scrunched up paper. Don't forget to keep stopping for a drink! You could add other activities such as creating an obstacle race. You could complete a few each day if you wanted to carry it out through the week. There are certificates below to print and give to your child. The document has lots of colours so you only need to print one!
