Phonics:

Now write tricky words.  Use "LOOK, COVER, WRITE, CHECK" if your child needs help...

Watch this video (click on Geraldine) to refresh learning of the Phase 3 digraph or.  Once you have watched the video, your child can practice reading these words:

oil / boil / coil / soil

Then write the sentence in the purple book at the back (don't look, use your phonics mat to write it out)

The oil fell into the soil.

Guided Reading:

Phase 2 children are just learning to blend cvc words (cat).

Read the comic for fluency.

Phase 3 children are able to read cvc words and are learning to read with digraphs and trigraphs.

Find the digraphs oo / ar / or. Read the comic for fluency.

Online Safety:

As your child may be spending more time than usual online share the 'Smartie the Penguin Story' with them. We have looked at it in school already but it would be worthwhile revisiting so that they remember how to stay safe online. Click on Smartie the Penguin below.

This week we are going to practice our maths using an Easter theme from White Rose Maths!  Click the image below to read a story on YouTube to inspire our Maths 'We're Going on an Egg Hunt.'   See if you have got a 10 hole egg box you can use to follow the instructions in the picture.
